Bertie Girl

Roberta Trouton

I’m something of a Womble! So have spent years finding materials that I love and squirreling them away until a project comes to mind. All the material, yarns, buttons and trimmings are made from quality re-cycled materials which I have scoured the earth to find. Each piece often has a story to tell, fabric from French flea markets or buttons from my Gran’s extensive collection! If someone doesn’t want it I will find a use for it!

All my products are designed by me with no two items being the same, so you are guaranteed a very individual piece of work. Central to the design of my work is empathy towards the environment; I strive to ensure that my products make no negative environmental impact. Mainly I am directed by the material and equipment I find, meaning my work is varied as I cannot rely on a constant supply of one type of fabric. This is reflected in the design, bags are usually fastened by buttons not new metal fasteners or fabric patch worked, a large supply in yarn may mean a flurry in crocheting or finding a new material can mean a new product is born. I hope you enjoy looking at my products as much as I love making them. There is something for everyone, handbags, purses, toys, glasses cases and charming crocheted hot water bottle covers all lovingly handmade and if you would like something bespoke then please don’t hesitate to contact me.

You can find my work on sale at The Craft’s of Angus Showcase and Shop and craft fairs throughout Angus. My next fairs are Forbes of Kingennie 8 th and 9 th of November and Guthrie castle 6 th and 7 th of December. My website is still under construction, but I will keep you updated.
